Walnut Creek

The Walnut Creek season runs from April through October. We run a concession stand for each of the concerts at Walnut Creek. TEAM trained volunteers work a cash register or run food/drink to the cashiers. We have a few slots at each concert for NON-TEAM trained volunteers that run food and non-alcoholic drinks only to the registers. These volunteers must be 16 years old. The payout for each volunteer is based on a percentage of that night’s sales. The average payout is around $60, but has gone as high as $97. Payouts are credited directly to your child’s fair share account.

TEAM training sessions are offered throughout the year and are rather quick with a short quiz at the end about procedures for serving alcohol. Everyone passes! For next TEAM training session, contact the SHS Band Boosters Walnut Creek Coordinator.  TEAM training is good for three years!

We generally arrive at 5:00 pm and get the stand set up with beer on ice and food ready to serve. We are usually finished up and leave around 11:00 pm, but it varies.

{Additional notes for 2019…  We will not need a full staff for all concerts.  The number of volunteers needed for each concert will vary depending on ticket sales.  Please sign up for the concerts you would like to work and our event coordinator will confirm closer to the concert date.  This year, we will have to inventory specific items/containers that are sold at the beginning of the night and again at the end of the night.  We are looking for 2 volunteers per event to come early to count.  We will compensate this role with an extra amount to your Fair Share account for that event.  Also new this year, we will have groups of 4 students (16 and up) selling pizza in the lawn area.  All times listed are the GATE opening times.  Counters will arrive approximately 2 hours before this time and all others will arrive 1 hour before.  Parents (and students 18 or over) please sign up under TEAM trained.  Students that are 16 & 17 years old need to sign up under the NON TEAM trained.  Parents or students may sign up as counters.   Students that are 16 & 17 years old may sign up to sell pizza .}

It is a fun group of people to work with, and you could be paying off this year and working on next year's fair share in no time!

Please contact SHS Band Boosters Walnut Creek Coordinator at walnutcreek@sandersonband.com if you have questions.
