Walnut Creek Coordinator Info

All Adult Volunteers Need to be TIPS Trained:
TIPS Classes (3 hours)

Usually held at Walnut Creek, VIP area.
See the Band Calendar for TIPS training dates.
Below is a quick run down of what the Coordinator will be responsible for this year. Some minor details may change, but there will be plenty of veteran help for the Coordinator.

Note: this Fundraiser is very useful to the Band for earning capital expense money, and to individuals for Fair Share.

There are three booths that Sanderson is responsible for:

1. Check the Walnut Creek website to check on upcoming concerts. (Once the season has begun flyers are provided telling of upcoming concerts)
2. Send an e-mail to all band parents/students telling of an upcoming concert date and openings.
3. Current personnel needs include:

4. Fill available spots in order e-mails are received.
5. Send response back letting people know that they are scheduled to work.
6. Send list of workers to the Walnut Creek contact for check in list at the gate (approx 4 days ahead of concert).
7. Send same list as a reminder via e-mail to workers reminding them of the check-in times, directions, etc.
8. Get totals for sales from stand manager and input data into spread sheet (more on this later).
9. Make periodic reports of expected credit earned by volunteers to treasurer. (This is just an estimate as real numbers aren't available until the end of the year when we use the total of all revenue and divide it by the number of volunteers for the entire season).
10. Be flexible and be ready to fill in when people's plans change.
11. Have a back up list of those people who aren't offended by last minute calls to fill in at the last minute.

General Info for Walnut Creek

The dress for the creek is white shirt or blouse, khaki colored pants or shorts and shoes or sneakers. This year they are giving you an apron to wear which is returned at the end of the night. No open toed shoes or sandals are allowed.

Directions to Walnut Creek:

Take 440 to Poole Road exit. Make a right at the light, and a left at the next light Birch Branch Road. Make the second right hand turn onto Middle Branch Road. Go to the stop sign and make a left onto Sunnybrook Road. You will pass an entrance to Walnut Creek and then you will come to a stop light. At the stop light make a left and then make the next left into Walnut Creek.

Tell the person at the gate you are a concession worker. Stay to the right once you enter the creek. Bear right at all times. At the start of the gravel road, turn right into the grassy parking area for concession workers.

NOTE: If the concert is sold out, you will be notified ahead of time and will have to park at Southeast Raleigh High School. Walnut Creek will provide bus service from the school to Walnut Creek.

There will be a large gate open, walk past that to the small gate. Enter and tell the person your name and she will check you off. Then walk from the table straight ahead and go through the gate. You will be in the park.

You can either walk straight ahead onto the path that goes around the seats or you can go right and walk through the seats to the other side.

If you take the path, when you get to the other side, our booth is the first one on the left.

If you walk through the seats, our booth will be after an outside beer booth on the left.
